Campus Oerlikon Lecture Series HS 2026: Inequality
Dear researchers
We invite doctoral students, postdocs, and professors across all disciplines at Campus Oerlikon to submit a contribution to the 4th Campus Oerlikon lecture series titled Inequality: Manifestations, Mechanisms, and Consequences for Individuals, Groups and Society. As a central challenge of our time, we would like to dedicate this year’s lecture series to this topic. Inequality, the unequal distribution of resources, opportunities, social status and power across individuals and groups, has pervasive consequences on psychological and social processes. It does not only affect, for example, individuals’ education, economic status, mobility, or psychological and physical well-being but also membership in social groups, and political participation. Inequality represents one of the most pervasive and consequential phenomena for human society. From different disciplinary perspectives, we want to shed light on manifestations, mechanisms and consequences of inequality and address what could help overcome negative effects and form societies that are more just, stable, and prosperous for all.
The lecture series is a great opportunity to network with other researchers of different disciplines. This year’s lecture series will be held as a brown-bag event at lunchtime. Food will be provided.
Presentation type: oral presentations (15 minutes talk plus 10 minutes discussion)
